In today's lesson, I learnt about a new approach to research based on the object itself. This method involves the following steps:
1, Observation and description: It starts with observing and touching the object and then describing in detail the object seen. This step helped me to understand the properties of the object in a more detailed and comprehensive way.
2. Situationalised questioning: This was followed by asking questions, at least 10 of them. These questions allowed me to think about the function, meaning, and possibilities of the object from different perspectives.
3, Questioning questions: The final step is to question the questions I have asked in depth. I need to think about what these questions relate to, which domain they belong to, and whether my questions are centred around the object itself (object-centred) or driven by the object (object driven).
Through a deeper practice of this method, I discovered a more complex and subtle connection between objects and creativity. Objects are not only material entities, they also carry stories, emotions and cultural meanings. For example, an ordinary ceramic vessel, apart from its functionality, may also be associated with a certain cultural tradition, historical background or personal memory. This deeper understanding allows me to capture the spiritual connotations of the object in a more delicate way when creating. I realize that art creation is not only a way to express one's personal feelings, but also a way to have a dialogue with the outside world. I plan to make more use of objects as inspiration and medium in my future creations, exploring their connection with human emotions, memories and social phenomena. At the same time, I also hope that through continued practice, my artworks will reflect my understanding and perception of the world more vividly.
