This exhibition at The Design Museum focuses on product, industrial, graphic, fashion and architectural design. The exhibition not only showcases the evolution of industrial products and many classic design products, but also delves into the human interaction in the design process, especially the relationship and dialogue between designers, manufacturers and users.
In this exhibition, I was fascinated by the evolution of industrial design, especially those design products that have become classics. By presenting masterpieces of industrial design from different eras and categories, the exhibition reveals how designers responded to the needs of suppliers and users, how users in turn influenced and consumed design, and how revolutions in technology and manufacturers have changed our world. I was most impressed by the exhibition "From Spoon to City", which made me realise that the development of such a small and commonplace tool in our lives can cover issues as diverse as transport, healthcare and software.
At the same time, many of the works in the exhibition showed how technological innovations have driven design, which made me realise that technology is not only a tool for design, but also an important driver of innovation. The exhibition also made me reflect on the significance of design on a social and cultural level, and how design reflects our values, lifestyles and social structures.
